February was a bit of a roller coaster ride and as discussed (vaguely) in my January post, life is lifeing in a way I would rather it didn’t. But, we are here and as my sister used to say to me when she was young and hip ‘we move’. One thing I will say for this up and down period of my life, I really am truly blessed to have the most wonderful people around me and I am so grateful.

Kicked off the month with a momentous occasion, finally, on baby number 3, we got to throw Jen a baby shower! After two very early arrivals (one during the joys of COVID) we finally managed to squeeze it in before the new arrival. The new bundle of joy is technically now here but he wasn’t born until March so officially he is still a bump for this blog post.

I myself also welcomed a joyful new arrival into my life, in the shape of a brand new Kindle. Yes, I know that’s not the same as a baby but I was very excited. I had for a long time, been using my Mums old one. It really sold me on the advantages of the kindle but by this point the lack of backlight (it was THAT old) was a pain and so, I invested in a new one. This also meant that I got to enter the world of Kindle cases! The old one was much too old for anything to fit but not so in my snazzy new world!

February was quite a craft month, I crocheted a baby blanket for a new arrival into Tony’s family. I used the Betty McKnit 6 day kid blanket pattern but with a multicoloured wool instead of swapping yarns. I confess it did take me longer than 6 days, you’re shocked I know, but I think it came out great and it really wasn’t too hard! I also started a cross stitch kit given to me by my friends who run a craft shop and it is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be, although a lot of fun! I also went to visit them at the shop and made a very exciting felted egg with a Mohawk which now sits on their shelf of felting goodies!

The final exciting activity in February, aside from many a lovely evening spent with Tony drinking wine, was the European Pokémon Championships. Tony and I were spectators while Henry played and we had a great time watching the competition and visiting the amazing Pokémon centre shop! It was a lovely weekend in London together and we even went to a VR exhibit on Pompeii.
